                    "Esta litograf\u00eda formaba parte de la serie de litograf\u00edas que sirvieron para ilustrar la monumental \"Historia de la Villa y Corte de Madrid\" de Jos\u00e9 Amador de los R\u00edos (1860-1864). Formaba parte del conjunto de 240 estampas (vistas, monumentos arquitect\u00f3nicos, episodios hist\u00f3ricos, retratos de madrile\u00f1os c\u00e9lebres y otras muchas im\u00e1genes del antiguo Madrid), publicadas con la primera edici\u00f3n de la obra, realizada en Madrid en el establecimiento de M. L\u00f3pez de la Hoya. La obra dividida en cuatro tomos, en folio imperial (39 x 29 cm.), se public\u00f3 entre los a\u00f1os 1860 y 1864 (Palau 1948: n\u00ba 10649). Jos\u00e9 Amador de los R\u00edos (1818-1878), uno de los grandes historiadores y arqueol\u00f3gos del siglo XIX, cont\u00f3 con la colaboraci\u00f3n de Juan de Dios de la Rada y Delgado para la composici\u00f3n de los tres primeros tomos y de Cayetano Rosell para el \u00faltimo."
