Jurista de s\u00f3lida formaci\u00f3n, fue catedr\u00e1tico de Derecho, ensayista y orador brillante, adem\u00e1s de protagonista de la vida p\u00fablica durante la Restauraci\u00f3n y la Rep\u00fablica. Su pensamiento se caracteriz\u00f3 por un liberalismo constitucional profundamente arraigado en el respeto al Estado de derecho, la legalidad y el equilibrio entre poderes, principios que defendi\u00f3 tanto en su obra escrita como en su actuaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, incluso en contextos de fuerte tensi\u00f3n ideol\u00f3gica.\n\nLa relaci\u00f3n de Niceto Alcal\u00e1-Zamora con Madrid fue central en su trayectoria vital y pol\u00edtica. En la capital desarroll\u00f3 buena parte de su carrera como jurista, parlamentario y jefe del Estado, y Madrid fue el escenario principal de su actividad institucional durante los a\u00f1os decisivos de la Segunda Rep\u00fablica. La ciudad encarn\u00f3 para \u00e9l el espacio del debate pol\u00edtico, de la responsabilidad constitucional y tambi\u00e9n del conflicto, ya que desde Madrid vivi\u00f3 su destituci\u00f3n como presidente en 1936 y el posterior exilio.
